Yong Zhao, Rich Gossweiler
Back in 2011 Yong Zhao, a brilliant computer vision researcher, developed a
very fast way to do head tracking on a tablet using the GPU (leaving the
CPU free for other tasks). I took this capability and wrote several
prototypes to illustrate how head movement and hand movement can be
decoupled or combined to navigate 2D and 3D spaces on a tablet.
In once demo, we created a virtual world where the viewer could tip their
head to look around objects. This demo was shown at google I/O's Android
keynote.
